Those hills and dells convince this small town girl from Main Street, USA that just maybe Tinsel Town deserves a second glance.
Perfectly purple petals drift like snow from the canopies of Jacaranda trees in the spring, covering the ground in a lilac haze. Secret, steep steps lead to tiny bungalows, one charming cottage after the other, all with million dollar views. On an unassuming street, a cafe with the most scrumptuous lunch you've ever had -- run by a buxom and beautiful former-industry bee who found a calling perhaps more rewarding.
And me, sitting under a magnolia tree, sipping my favorite red, on the brick patio of my building, savoring the air and delicious life as the notes from a familiar tune dance their way into the courtyard, curling around my heart. Reminding me, I am home.
